^Lot 1438 2 WWII GERMAN DAGGERS.

1) ARMY. This dagger has an overall length of 15 5/8". It has a plain blade marked near the hilt "WMW WAFFEN". Plated eagle crossguard with oak leaf-decorated ferrule and pommel. Light orange composite grip. Plated scabbard with original hanger. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina with scattered slight staining. Mounts show tarnish, and grip is a bit dirty. Scabbard shows heavier tarnish and is missing one screw at the top. The hanger has one attachment hook broken. 2) LUFTWAFFE. A 2nd Model Luftwaffe dagger measuring 17" in length with an unmarked blade. Aluminum eagle crossguard with oak leaf-decorated ferrule and pommel. Dark rust orange-colored grip with wire wrap. Plated scabbard with aluminum suspension straps and a single hanger clip attached. CONDITION: blade appears to have been plated with the plating bubbling off. Hilt shows light overall wear, but the pommel does not tighten correctly. Scabbard shows a dark patina overall. (02-22952-2/BF). $700-900.
